Raymond James Stadium Information

The "crown jewel" of the National Football League, Raymond James Stadium® is the home of the NFL's Tampa Bay Buccaneers, University of South Florida Bulls football and the New Year's Day Outback Bowl, as well as concerts and special events. Named the NFL's best stadium in multiple surveys by major publications, as well as the NFL Players Association, Raymond James Stadium will host Super Bowl XLIII in 2009.

A survey of players by the NFL Players Association in 2006 rated Raymond James Stadium as the best NFL playing field.

September 20, 1998, signaled a new era in Tampa Bay. When the Buccaneers took the field in Raymond James Stadium® for the first time, they relocated only a few hundred yards from their original home, but they abruptly moved into the future of the National Football League. The culmination of three years of intense research, development and construction, Raymond James Stadium is a combination of the finest elements of modern stadium design and its own groundbreaking innovations. Already referred to as the crown jewel of the NFL by league insiders, the stadium's features are centered around one concept: enhancing the spectator's experience. Below are some of the exciting new features that visitors will encounter at Raymond James Stadium.

General seating
After 22 years of watching events from bench seating, spectators can now comfortably settle into individual seats, measuring 19" to 21" wide and with 32" to 33" from one seat back to the next. Overall, Raymond James Stadium holds more than 65,657 spectators, 50,000 of which will be in general seating. There are up to 712 wheelchair-accessible seats located in all areas, not just the end zone. Seats in all sections also feature cupholders.

Club seats
Raymond James Stadium features over 12,000 club seats, a modern feature that allows spectators to experience games and events in maximum comfort. Club seats are extra-wide and padded, and feature waiter service and prime sideline locations. The seats are accessible from a luxurious, air-conditioned club level that houses restaurants, sports bars, video walls, lounge seating and additional views of the field.

Luxury suites
A total of 195 suites on two floors at mid-level along both sidelines offer absolutely the most luxurious setting to watch events. Each suite has retractable glass windows, private bar and restroom, and five televisions. The suites are accessible from private elevators.

Concessions
Raymond James Stadium has over 600 points of sale for food, beverages and merchandise, a ratio of one point for every 103 seats. Houlihan's Stadium had 393 points of sale, or one for every 186 seats. A wide variety of concessions will be available, from hot dogs and sodas to gourmet pizzas and cappuccino.

Restrooms/services
Raymond James Stadium is equipped with 88 public restroom locations and a total of 1,073 fixtures.

End-zone terraces
Each end zone in Raymond James Stadium features an area unique to NFL stadiums. Above approximately 30 rows of seating, the end zones turn into a wide, flat congregating area with an outstanding view of the field. With a full assortment of concession stands, visitors will mingle in this sunny area before, during and after events and surely be the envy of all Northern spectators watching stadium events on television.

BucVision
Raymond James Stadium boasts the most advanced videoboard technology in the NFL. The two massive scoreboards, one in each end zone, can display enormous singular replays or up to six different images simultaneously. Replays, statistics and messages can now be clearly seen from any angle in the stadium. With a high-tech control center and over 30 game-day staffers, the scoreboards will keep visitors updated on NFL activity better than any other venue in the league. There are also four matrix message boards on the upper level facing the two sidelines that display scores and game statistics.

Media Facilities
The Raymond James Stadium press box seats up to 225 members of the media in a spacious, comfortable box on the west side upper suite level. A dining area featuring a multiple-screen video wall has been added, and the box is accessible from an elevator dedicated specifically to the media. The media entrance is located at Dock D on the southwest corner of the stadium.

Escalators
An added comfort feature in Raymond James Stadium is a total of 20 escalators. With a bank of four escalators located at each corner ramp and an additional four in the club lounge, visitors will find it easier and quicker to navigate the stadium than ever before.
